A full day Warsaw tour to give you an in-depth understanding of the city. This tour will guide you to the top Warsaw attractions. It is done both from a car/van/motorcoach and on foot.
To start exploring the city I will take you for a walk in the Old Town. Warsaw’s Old district is a place of a special relevance for the city’s history. While looking at the colorful facades of the old tenement houses you will hear about the earliest days of the city. You will naturally learn also about its recent war destruction and meticulous reconstruction. During the tour you will see the Castle Square with King Sigismund’s Column and the most important Warsaw’s temple – St. John’s Cathedral. Next, we will reach the Old Market Square – with a statue of the mermaid, Warsaw’s coat of arms, in its center. I will then show you the city walls and the impressive defensive bastion called the Barbican.
A tour outside the Old Town
Let this full day Warsaw tour take you outside the Old Town. First we will walk (or drive) along the Royal Route – the ancient road leading to the city with beautiful palaces and residences of great artistic value overlooking the streets. Most noteworthy here are the Presidential palace, the Bristol Hotel and the Warsaw University’s main campus. We will attend the changing of guards by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. One of the highlights will be a visit to the Holy Cross church where the urn with the heart of Poland’s greatest composer Frederic Chopin is kept.
You will then see places and monuments of the Jewish life and struggle in the Warsaw Ghetto and the famous Warsaw’s modern city center with skyscrapers from the recent years and the Palace of Culture and Science – communist built tallest building of the city.
Stroll in a park
After the busy downtown life our full day Warsaw tour allows us also for a moment of relaxation. We will therefore visit the most beautiful park of Warsaw – Royal Łazienki Park. In the park we will discover the beauty of the monument to Frederic Chopin (on Sundays music recitals possible) and then stroll through the park. The shaded park alleys will lead us to one of the most charming residences – the Palace on the Water. The palace was the summer villa of the last Polish king built in the second half of the 18th century.
Vistula right riverbank and new hottest must-sees
We then drive over the Vistula river to see the Praga residential district where much of the pre-war architecture was preserved and much is being built anew – like the National Stadium built for the 2012 Euro Cup in football. We will also drive by modern Warsaw attractions like Warsaw University Library, Copernicus Science Center, Elektrownia Powiśle, an old power plant turned into a trendy shopping and foodie center.
