The best half-day Warsaw tour
A great Warsaw tour to see the best of the city done both on foot and from a car/van/motorcoach. This half-day Warsaw tour includes a walk around the Old Town, where you will learn about the city’s ancient and recent history. Most noteworthy in the walking tour are the Royal Castle and St. John’s Cathedral, connected with Poland’s kings and monarchs. The narrow streets of the oldest Warsaw district will then guide us to the Old Market Square – the commercial heart of Warsaw today surrounded by beautifully rebuilt houses. Here you will hear the legend of the Warsaw mermaid, which is the coat of arms of the city. Next, I will show you how once the city was protected by the city walls and bastions, among which the Barbican.
Following the Old Town we will drive along the Royal Route – the ancient road leading to the city with beautiful aristocratic residences of great artistic value overlooking the streets. Especially relevant in this tour are: the Presidential palace, the Bristol Hotel and the Warsaw University’s main campus. One of the highlights will be a visit to the Holy Cross church where the urn with the heart of Poland’s greatest composer Frederic Chopin is kept.
HD Warsaw tour: not only the Old Town
During my HD Warsaw tour you will see places and monuments significant for Warsaw’s past and present. One of the most relevant places in the city outside of the historical Old Town is the former Warsaw Jewish ghetto. The tours takes you to the Monument of the Ghetto Heroes, where I will tell you about the life of the second largerst Jewish community in the world before and during the war. Here you will also learn about the heroic struggle in the ghetto uprising and the holocaust of the Warsaw Jews deported from Umschlagplatz square to Treblinka extermination camp.
This Warsaw tour will show you then the modern face of Warsaw with the tall skyscrapers from the recent years and the Palace of Culture and Science – communist built tallest tower and an unwanted symbol of the city. Next, circling through different streets and quarters of Warsaw, we will also see the monument to Frederic Chopin situated in the most beautiful park of Warsaw – Royal Łazienki Park.
